The country seems pretty split on if there is extraterrestrial life somewhere in the universe. While some people doubt the existence of aliens, others swear that they not only believe in them but have seen their modes of transportation. Each year, there are hundreds of UFO sightings, and many get reported to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). The organization has been around since 1974 and has a catalog of nearly 90,000 sightings. Along with offering a submission form so people can repor their own UFO sighting, NUFORC also lists all the sightings they've collected by state.

If you're wondering, the states with the most UFO sightings are California with 13,626, Florida with 6,604, Washington with 5,942, Texas with 4,997 and New York with 4,720. Among what the witnesses described are triangle-shaped objects, cigar-shaped objects, streaking lights that looked like meteors, flashing lights, disappearing lights, saucers and more.

UFOs have been in the news recently after the Navy announced plans to draft new guidelines for pilots who see aircrafts they can't explain. Apparently, there have been more sightings in recent years.

Keep your eyes opened as summer tends to see a spike in UFO sightings, likely because more people are outside during the summer months but perhaps it's because aliens prefer to visit when the weather is warmer. If you wind up seeing one, be sure to submit a report here.
