Radiohead’s Ed O'Brien Announces First Headlining North American Tour

On Monday (February 24), Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien announced his first North American tour in support of his solo album debut, Earth

Under the moniker EoB, O'Brien will hit up 14 cities across North America starting May 26 in Minneapolis and wrapping up June 15 in LA. Tickets go on sale this Friday (February 28) with a pre-sale happening the day before for those who pre-order O'Brien's album.

“Very happy to announce that my band and I will head out for a North American tour throughout May and June,” he wrote on Instagram.

Earth arrives on April 17 and O'Brien took to Facebook late last year to open up about the project and hint at the tour.

"The recording of the album started in the fall of 2017 and we finished it earlier this year," he wrote. "It’s been an amazing journey, gathering all these great musicians, sound engineers and producers together. Not always easy and definitely not without its challenges… But that feels like the right and only place to be…. And now it’s soon to be released… I’m going to tour this record properly… So we’ll be out there in 2020 and hope to see you at some of the shows. This feels like the start of something new and truly significant for me… It has felt like a calling… I have to do this…"

In a recent exclusive interview with Q104.3 New York's Out of the Box with Jonathan Clarke, O'Brien opened up about his solo release and how a trip to Brazil inspired the album. Check out the interview here.

EoB has shared two singles from Earth — “Shangri-La” and “Brasil.” He previously released a non-LP song, “Santa Teresa,” as his first offering of solo music. Seven other songs will join “Shangri-La” and “Brasil” on the record.
