A tragic incident unfolded in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, on Saturday (July 19) when a tourist boat capsized during a sudden thunderstorm, resulting in the deaths of 34 people. Eight individuals remain missing as rescue efforts continue. The Wonder Sea boat, carrying 48 passengers and five crew members, all Vietnamese, was on a sightseeing tour when it overturned due to strong winds.

Rescue workers managed to save 11 people, including a 14-year-old boy who was trapped in the overturned hull for four hours. The boat primarily carried tourists from Hanoi, including about 20 children. The incident has raised concerns as a tropical storm, named Storm Wipha, is expected to hit Vietnam's northern region, including Ha Long Bay, in the coming week.

Authorities are continuing their search and rescue operations, hoping to locate the missing individuals. The sudden storm caught the boat off guard, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of weather in the region.
