Summer Games with Officer Bodell and Special Olympic's Athlete Karla!

Here is Renee's interview with Officer Jay Bodell and Special Olympic's Athlete Karla about the upcoming 2019 Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games! They chat about what athletes and spectators can expect at this year's games!

They also talk about the three day long Law Enforcement Torch Run for SOCT, that will help to kick-off the games!

Law Enforcement Torch Run:

June 5 - June 7

The Torch Run will cover over 500 miles and pass through more than 100 cities and towns. Over 1,500 Law Enforcement officers and Special Olympics Athletes will participate in this year’s Torch Run. Officers represent local, state, and federal departments, agencies, and correctional facilities.

2019 Summer Games:

All are welcome. Free admission.

Opening Ceremonies on Friday June 7th at Southern Connecticut State University's Jess Dow Field, 7:15 p.m.

Cheer on athletes at all venues throughout the weekend:

  • Friday June 7: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Saturday June 8: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Sunday June 9: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PARTICIPANTS EXPECTED

  • 2,500 Athletes and Unified Partners
  • 500 Coaches
  • 2,900 Volunteers
