Meet the CT Humane Society's Adoptable Pet of the Week: Nova!

Meet Nova, a three-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier with a heart full of love and a bright future ahead. She arrived at CHS in September after her previous family faced health challenges and made the difficult decision to ensure Nova could receive the care and attention she needed. Now, Nova is ready to start her next chapter with a family who will cherish her just as much.

Nova would make a wonderful companion in a home with children over eight who understand how to interact gently and respectfully with pets. She’s looking for a household without cats, or a dog savvy cat. Nova has not had much experience with dogs, but is willing to consider sharing her home with a canine companion.

While Nova has her calm, affectionate moments, she really comes alive when it’s time to explore the outdoors. Walks, fresh air, and daily exercise are some of her favorite things, and she’ll thrive in a home that can keep up with her lifestyle.

She does have some special needs, but still has lots of love to give. An adoption counselor will be happy to discuss her needs and personality when you come in to visit her. If Nova sounds like a good fit, come meet her in Newington!
