This week's Pet of the Week is Prince!
Prince is a three-year-old rabbit. His journey at CHS began in June, when a pawsome human found him as a stray in New Britain and wanted to give him a bright new beginning. He would love to share his home with a spayed female rabbit. Due to his sensitivity to anesthesia, the CHS veterinary team was not able to neuter him.
He loves to explore and will enjoy living in a home with plenty of space to roam freely. Prince will make a wonderful companion for children who are gentle and compassionate towards pets. Rabbits are curious and social creatures that benefit from social time with the humans they love most.
Rabbits are naturally curious, social animals that thrive with companionship. A bonded pair is often happiest, while a single rabbit will require more daily interaction and enrichment from their human companions. With patience, rabbits can be litterbox trained and enjoy supervised time roaming freely in a rabbit-proofed home. Although sizes vary by breed, the average rabbit weighs around 5 pounds and, with proper care, can live 6-12 years.
Prince does have some special needs but has plenty of love to give. An adoption counselor will be happy to discuss his needs and personality when you visit him. Prince is available for adoption in Newington.
