High School Musical Season Is Here

High school theater kids sometimes love the waiting for the announcement of what the Spring musical is going to be more than what it actually winds up being. The waiting, to be sure, is a fun time, where rumors abound, and daydreaming of what role one might get if it's the musical he or she thinks it's going to be rules. "The Addams Family" is one of the good ones, as opposed to dated material like "Oklahoma" or "Annie Get Your Gun." There's a time and place for the classics, and I'm basically talking about "The Wizard of Oz" and that's it.

North Haven High School just wrapped their production of "Beauty & The Beast," which - thanks to the hit Disney animated feature of the 90's and recent live screen adaptation starring Emma Watson - pulls off proving timeless. The award-winning Amity High School theater department decided on "Catch Me If You Can: The Musical". It begins April 5.

Here, Branford's Sophia Coppola discusses scoring the role of Wednesday Addams. Yes, BHS went with the creepy and the kooky.
