First Lady Returns To White House Following Kidney Operation

Melania Trump returns to White House following operation

Melania Trump returned to the White House on Saturday following a week-long stay at Walter Reed hospital after treatment for a kidney condition

Trump's spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, declined to release any additional details about the First Lady's condition, citing her right to privacy. In a statement issued Saturday, Grisham said:

"The first lady returned home to the White House this morning. She is resting comfortably and remains in high spirits. Our office has received thousands of calls and emails wishing Mrs Trump well, and we thank everyone who has taken the time to reach out.”

On Wednesday, 48-year-old Melania Trump said on Twitter that she was "feeling great" and looking forward to coming home, but at that time, gave no indication of when.

Her husband, President Donald Trump, welcomed his wife back to the White House with a tweet after initially misspelling her name as 'Melanie.' The initial tweet was deleted and replaced a few moments later.

Great to have our incredible First Lady back home in the White House. Melania is feeling and doing really well. Thank you for all of your prayers and best wishes!

Melania Trump was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center located near Washington D.C. on Monday where she underwent an embolization procedure to treat an unspecified kidney condition that the White House described as benign.
