Brian Tarrence, a 51-year-old American tourist from Manhattan, New York, has vanished in Turks and Caicos after leaving his vacation rental in the early hours of June 25. Tarrence was last seen on surveillance footage leaving his Airbnb at the Paradise Inn in Grace Bay, Providenciales, around 3:30 a.m. He was wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers, and had his phone and wallet with him.

Tarrence and his wife, who have been married for one year, arrived on the island on June 22 for a romantic getaway, planning to return home on June 29. The day before his disappearance, the couple enjoyed a boat trip and dinner. His wife went to bed that night, and when she awoke, Tarrence was gone.

Private investigator Carl DeFazio, hired by Tarrence's family, described Grace Bay Road as a "very safe" area. Despite this, Tarrence's sudden departure from the rental remains unexplained. DeFazio has been working to obtain records of Tarrence's phone activity, but progress has been slow. He emphasized that the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force is using all available resources, including drones and CCTV, to locate Tarrence.

While there is currently no evidence of foul play, DeFazio is keeping all possibilities open.

The U.S. State Department had previously issued a travel advisory for Turks and Caicos due to rising crime rates.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police are urging anyone with information about Tarrence's disappearance to contact them at 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
