First let’s take a look at movies opening this weekend at the box office and streaming! There are 24 new flicks opening, but here are a few I think that will trend!

The Devils Conspiracy a sci-fi horror flick which sees a biotech company develop the technology to clone the greatest and scariest minds and figures from throughout history with just the slightest bit of DNA. In theaters only.  Plane, starring Gerard Butler and Mike Colter about Pilot who saves passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island -- only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning – extremely violent! In theaters and streaming on VUDU

My pick to highlight is on Netflix, it’s Dog Gone – based on the true story of Gonker, a dog who went missing for 23 days! TISSUE ALERT – this is going to make you cried multiple times, you will need a moment after the movie is over. It is a family feel good movie with ups, downs, twists turns, laughs too – but OMG!!! LOVE THIS MOVIE! Starring Rob Lowe…take a look!

Monday is a holiday celebrating the life of Dr Martin Luther King Jr and many museums will be offering free activities and there will be events across the state. Here are a couple I’d like to highlight:

FREE Community Day Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. takes place from 11am to 2pm at the New Britain Museum of American Art. In commemoration of Dr. King’s birthday, the NBMAA is partnering with the CT Center for Non Violence to present an afternoon of art-making, music, and learning. Drop into activities led by local artists and activists to express love, practice empathy, and celebrate community.

Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at The Wadsworth Atheneum, through art making, performances, and tours for all ages. Explore The Amistad Center for Art & Culture’s exhibition Art and Activism at Tougaloo College during its final day in Hartford and learn how art can catalyze social justice. Work alongside the Public Art For Racial Justice Education team in a portable mural highlighting national leaders of the civil rights movement. Free admission all day and the event is noon to 4pm.

Join the Yale Peabody Museum, CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, and the New Haven Museum for the 27th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy of Social and Environmental Justice with two days of free, hybrid events open to all. Sunday and Monday!

We love the Fradiani’s! Friday you can enjoy Nick Fradiani Sr Paradise Hills Vineyard in Wallingford for some live music! They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. Bring your own food and they have your favorite local wines and beverages for purchase! From 5 to 8pm

Sunday support UConn Basketball as both the men and women’s teams have games at the XL Center – for tickets and times visit www.xlcenter.com
