There are cinco de mayo and Kentucky Derby events happening ALL weekend long across the state!!!

Join us for our annual Hartford County Walk Like MADD on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 10:00 am at West Hartford Town Hall and Blue Back Square. The walk is a non-competitive 5k walk that raises the funds necessary to provide educational awareness programs to Connecticut youth and their parents, provide advocacy programs at no cost to victims of alcohol-related crashes and their families, and to continue educating the community about the dangers of drinking and driving and underage drinking.

Hartford, CT: Rock Your Future! The Mayor’s Youth Employment & Empowerment Day Saturday May 6th 10am-3pm. Free to all Hartford Youth ages 14-19, Parents welcome! Event presented by the City of Hartford. Pre-apply for summer jobs, gain résumé writing, interview skills and more! PLUS get professional headshots! LOCATION: Hartford City Hall, 550 Main Street Hartford CT & UConn’s Hartford Campus, located immediately behind City Hall This is a FREE Workforce Development event open to all Hartford youth ages 14-19! visit hartfordct.gov - look for Families, Children, Youth and Recreation to register!

Saturday night! I CAN”T WAIT!! LIZZO performs at the XL Center !!!! Coming off her Emmy Award win for Outstanding Competition Program and her VMAs Video for Good Award for “About Damn Time” (which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and the top 10 in 12 other countries), there are very few tickets left, but I noticed a few seats in only 2 sections still had some seats!!! Sunday it’s Bicycles on Main Day Parade with the Old Wethersfield Shop Keepers! A Family friendly celebration designed to kick-off the month-long "Bicycles Along Main" Event. Join Mayor Michael Rell, the Wethersfield Police Bicycle Team, along with Old Wethersfield Shopkeepers and their families as they make their way through scenic Old Wethersfield. Participants are encouraged to dress-up in costumes as well as decorate their bikes to add to the festivities! At 10:00 Gather at Alfred W. Hanmer Elementary School parking. If you can’t participate, we would love to see you around the parade route. Cheer on the kids and families as they parade through town. We look for laser to seeing everyone. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and follow State of CT helmet guidelines.
