Renee's Adoptables: Meet Athena!

Meet Athena!

Calling all HUSKY LOVERS! Meet Athena, a beautiful, sweet pup. Her beautiful blue eyes and fluffy white/tan/black coat are head turners! As an almost 3 year old Husky mix she is fully grown and weighs 43 pounds. She loves human affection and will roll on her back for tummy rubs and TLC. She loves to run in the play yard and fetch balls.

Athena was found at a garbage dump in south LA where she stayed for days until she was finally lured to safety by concerned and caring people.

Athena has blossomed into a fun loving, playful pup and gets along great with other dogs, she does not mind cats and she does well with children over 5 years of age. She is now healthy, happy, confident, and looks forward to have a loving home. Athena will do best with an active family with a fenced yard. She is a fast runner, so older children are recommended.

She is house trained and walks great on leash. She is also comfortable using a crate. That makes her a prime candidate for being a great gal for being move in ready to her forever home. It is important to remember that although she is house trained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment.

So if you are ready to get out jogging/running shoes, Athena is looking to be your partner. She is ready to share her enthusiasm with all those around her. She is ready for her forever family to meet her.

The adoption fee for Athena is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.

About Dog Star Rescue

Dog Star Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, is a dog rescue organization based out of the Hartford CT area. We work closely with shelters in the South as well as New England states to save the lives of loving and loyal dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row. Our team of wonderful volunteers get these adoptable dogs the medical and emotional care they need so they can transition into a loving forever home. To date we’ve placed over 4,000 dogs with new families.

All of our amazing volunteers are unpaid and donate their time because of their passion for helping dogs. They spend significant time each week helping guide dogs to a wonderful new life. If you ask our volunteers, they’ll tell you they do it for a wide variety of reasons, including personal satisfaction in helping address a nationwide problem, their love of dogs, and a desire to have fun socializing with like-minded people. Dog Star is always looking for new volunteers to join our group, so if you would like to be a part of our organization, please check out our Volunteer Opportunities page.
