Kevin Ramsdell, Executive Director, and Sabra Ramsdell, Chief of Staff at the Springfield Rescue Mission, join us live from the Travelers Championship. The Springfield Rescue Mission has been serving the community for over 130 years. The organization offers a men's residential rehabilitation program that supports recovery from addiction, including alcohol, drugs, and gambling, while also addressing education, job readiness, and spiritual growth. The mission focuses on helping men become self-sufficient and break cycles of poverty. Their work extends beyond providing shelter, with a holistic and faith based approach to recovery.
Kevin and Sabra shared their long-term vision, which includes opening a women’s facility to mirror the success of their men's program. They emphasized the importance of building personal relationships through faith, not just religion, helping every individual feel valued and supported. The mission also distributes over three million pounds of food each year and recently implemented a digital literacy and financial wellness program to prepare residents for life. They highlighted the success of alumni who return to mentor new residents and invited the public to attend their annual graduation, and shared powerful stories of transformation.
